Favourite Websites
Here are some links to other websites I enjoy, with a few personal comments on them. All are child safe.
7mm Narrow Gauge Association
If you are interested in narrow gauge modelling around 7 mm scale, this site offers some real interest. The association is well worth joining. Full of skilled, friendly, erudite modellers who never ‘talk down’ to novices.
Australian Narrow Gauge Web Exhibition
Some of the best narrow gauge layouts in Australia. Masses of great photographs full of inspiration. If you feel your modelling is becoming jaded, look here. Their enthusiasm is contagious.
4D Modelshop
Modeller’s Mecca. An absolute Aladdin's Cave. Tools, Materials for just about every craft and hobby, including the really hard to get stuff. London (UK) based. Check out this site with its online shop. (My personal favourite shop and even though they’ve moved, they still only a short distance away)
Pendon Museum
Not Narrow Gauge, but if, like me, you are into architectural modelmaking, take a look. Many years of expertise have gone into these models. A visit to this site is a must. A visit to the museum itself is highly recommended. I fortunately picked the finest day of 2001 to cycle down there. The roads were very quiet. I only found out later it was Cup Final Day. I'm not sport oriented in the least!
A lot of credit is due to my wife, Paulette. Her patience, tolerance and understanding have made my hobby a pleasure. When we married years ago, it was on a Friday at 9am. (We had the reception with our family the night before) After the ceremony we left immediately to set up a display and demonstration at the Euro-Militaire in Folkestone. We had a second reception that night, with our modelling friends! It has been a long standing joke that my wife spent her wedding night with four thousand model makers, a contingent of the Napoleonic Society and the local garrison! What man could ask for more.

She is also no mean artist in her own right. She won a competition with her first military figure and she produces the most exquisite greetings cards.

Being a qualified Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, she knows exactly how to keep me calm when models try to take on a life of their own.

My thanks my love
Dedication
Pepper 7
The online shop for narrow gauge modellers. Great site full of stuff from all over the world. Laid out nicely with plenty of pictures.
Thank you for visiting. Please call again around the first of next month
The On30 Conspiracy is primarily a discussion forum of international modellers working mainly in 1/48 scale on 16.5mm track, though some of us work in 1/43 (O-16.5). I would describe the ‘Conspirators’ (now over 2000) as a bunch of ‘Loveable nuts’. You will not find a more friendly or more helpful bunch. The free exchange of ideas and the vast amount of photos of members’ models, makes it the place to go for inspiration. Many have their own websites and these can be visited by using the On30 navigation bar on my Homepage. Alternatively, click on the logo to the left and it will take you to a list of all sites in the ring. To join the On30 conspiracy click here to find the new meeting place for the Conspirators.
Scottish Garden Railways
If you are interested in garden railways, or having 'G' Scale indoors, then have a look here. Aristo-craft, LGB, Bachmann, USA Trains are among the lines stocked. There is a good second hand section as well.  I can recommend their service. After months of looking for a source for 'Gnomy' streetcars, I contacted Sandy.‘I had them in my sticky little hands within days! Brilliant. If you're stuck for anything, try here. If they haven’t got it I’m sure they will get it for you or help you to find it. And if like me you’re after Gnomy Streetcars - he has them!
The FETB is raising money to restore and return these old passenger cars to their former glory and former home. Can you help? Click on picture to find out more.
Proops Brothers
Proops have a great range of tools, ideal for the modeller and craftworker. Many useful gadgets and all at very reasonable prices. Good service too!
Surrey Area Group of the 7mm NGA
These chaps kindly moved the borders of Surrey to include me! Competing with the Trent Valley Group for the title of “Most Active”, they are definitely the busiest at exhibitions. This site is a chronicle of their activities - including the start of their new modular layout, The Surrey Heights Railway using an innovative baseboard system.
Help Blanche
Blanche was built by Hunslett in 1893 and has been a hard working locomotive all her life. She now lives on the Ffestiniog Railway in Wales. She is at the moment laid up, needing major work on her boiler. This link takes you to the appeal page but please take the time to view the whole site. And if you have a few bob to spare - please send it Blanche’s way.

All Components

Narrow Gauge World and NG Modelling
Just discovered this magazine. Although it’s been around for a few years, it has only recently included modelling articles and added this fact to its title. Bi-Monthly, it has a very good balance between modelling and prototype, with good sized and clear photos. Also you are not buying half a book of adverts. The advertising it does carry is virtually all narrow gauge related. This link will take you to the publisher’s site

pp55970c1f.png
The On30 exchange is a brand new place for modellers to gather. It is in a “Forum” format. This makes it easy to follow discussion threads, sorted by title. Photo galleries, links, files etc., are all there in an easily navigable setup. You can stroll around and have a look as a guest before you decide to sign up. Click the Logo above to enter
